Lifelong Learning Platform 2025 Roadmap

As the Lifelong Learning Platform (LLP) team, we have decided to adopt a new working pattern with our developers. Over the past six years, we have followed a monthly deployment cycle. However, starting in 2025, we will transition to a quarterly deployment pattern. This approach will be tested throughout 2025, with a review scheduled at the end of Quarter 3 to assess its effectiveness and determine if adjustments are needed.

Quarterly Plan

The quarterly deployment plan is outlined in the infographic above, highlighting the key dates for planning, development, testing, and deployment.

Key Phases of the Quarterly Cycle

1. Planning and Refinement

During this phase, the LLP team will present the list of tickets to the developers. These tickets will encompass both bug fixes and platform improvements. The team will provide detailed explanations and address any questions or concerns raised by the developers to ensure clarity and alignment.

2. Development

Once the tickets are agreed upon, the development team will begin work. This phase involves coding and implementing the required changes or enhancements.

3. Quality Assurance (QA)

The development company will perform a rigorous quality assurance check on the completed tickets to ensure they meet the required standards and function as intended.

4. User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Following QA, the tickets will be handed over to the LLP team for a system-wide test. This comprehensive test will include validation of key modules such as:

  • ANAES 2021
  • ACCS 2021
  • FICM 2021
  • Dual Roles
  • CPD
  • Logbook
  • ARCP

5. Deployment

  • Issue Resolution: If any issues are identified during UAT, the tickets will return to the development phase for resolution.
  • Approval: Once all issues are resolved, the LLP Product Manager will sign off on the tickets, and they will be deployed to the live site.

6. Retrospective Meeting

After deployment, a post-deployment review will be conducted by the LLP team to confirm that all items have been successfully implemented. The development team, project management, QA team, and LLP team will then participate in a retrospective meeting to discuss:

  • What went well
  • Challenges encountered
  • Areas for improvement

This feedback will be used to refine the process for the next quarter.

By adopting this new approach, we aim to enhance collaboration, streamline development, and deliver more robust updates to the Lifelong Learning Platform. This roadmap is subject to change based on resource availability, emerging issues, and compliance with GDPR regulations. We are committed to evaluating this process and making adjustments to ensure it meets the needs of our users and stakeholders.
