Alladi legacy - Bursary places
Celebrating Dr Ramana Alladi’s Legacy: Bursary Opportunities for Anaesthesia 2025
In honour of Dr Ramana Alladi, a compassionate and pioneering anaesthetist, and with the support of his family, we are pleased to offer bursaries for internationally trained anaesthetists and associated specialty doctors (SAS) in the UK and Ireland to attend Anaesthesia 2025, our flagship conference in Belfast this May.
Dr Alladi arrived in Britain in 1975, facing the challenges many overseas-trained doctors know well. He became a champion of the SAS community, dedicating his career to raising the profile of internationally trained doctors and fostering their professional growth. As he once reflected, ‘The greater the risks you take and the greater the sacrifice you make, the more successful you are.’ His commitment to perseverance and progress continues to inspire our profession today.
As a long-standing supporter of the RCoA, Dr Alladi also served on our Council, where he helped shape the College’s educational and professional standards and supported the next generation of anaesthetists.
Bursary Details:
This legacy bursary will support seven in-person delegates and 20 online attendees, covering the cost of the delegate pass.
In-person delegates will also be invited to the conference dinner, an invitation only networking event attended by members of the RCoA Council and other influential leaders in the field. Additionally, a dedicated breakout room will be available at the conference for bursary recipients to connect and exchange ideas.
Travel and accommodation costs are not included for in-person attendees.
Criteria to apply:
- Internationally trained anaesthetists and associated specialty doctors (SAS) or MTI doctors
- Employed in the UK or Ireland
- Open only to those who have not previously attended the annual conference
Recipients will be asked to share their experiences and reflections post-event to acknowledge and reflect on the bursary award.
