Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, 1926 – 2022

Responding to the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II,  Dr Fiona Donald, President of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, said: 

"It was with immense sadness that I learned of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. 

The Queen has ruled for longer than any other Monarch in British history and is a much loved and respected figure across the globe.  

Her tireless public service and her dedication to the NHS, leaves a remarkable legacy. Her Majesty’s continued recognition of work carried out by healthcare professionals in the UK throughout her reign and her patronage of a number of UK medical institutions will be greatly missed.  

I send my deepest condolences to our Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, and the entire Royal Family."
