On late diagnosis of a condition that requires reasonable adjustments, all previous attempts at an examination component taken prior to the diagnosis may be discounted or additional attempts added.
Candidates should make a request by emailing exams@rcoa.ac.uk (FRCA) or facultyexams@rcoa.ac.uk (FFICM/ FFPMRCA) with the date of their diagnosis, the report from an approved assessor and record of examination history, including any relevant extenuating circumstances.
The request will be reviewed by the Examinations Department and if approved, a formal letter confirming the discounted attempts will be sent by email. Complex or unusual cases will be send to the next sitting of the Examinations Committee for review and candidates will be informed of the outcome soon after the committee has sat.
