Jason Williams-James
Jason is a Lecturer in Medical Science at the University of Central Lancashire, Prior to joining the School of Medicine, Jason taught within the School of Natural Sciences and as a module tutor in the Deanery of Biomedical Sciences, Edinburgh Medical School at the University of Edinburgh where he was nominated for an Excellence in Teaching award. Jason comes with a wealth of experience in both scientific research and diagnostic pathology, having training initially as a biomedical scientist and then a veterinarian. Jason previously worked for the Public Health Laboratory Service performing routine hospital-based diagnostic microbiology and communicable disease surveillance in the greater London area. He has also spent time working for the Veterinary Laboratories Agency undertaking post-mortem disease investigation in livestock and wildlife and spent a period with the UK Medical Research Council (MRC) at Guy's Hospital, London.
Jason is also a community councillor in his home region in Pembrokeshire and a key committee member of the South Wales Branch of the Royal Society of Biology.
