Public consultation for select GPAS chapters is now open
The Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) is pleased to announce that the public consultation is now open for the following draft Guidelines for the Provision of Anaesthesia Services (GPAS) chapters:
• Guidelines for the Provision of Anaesthesia Services for Day Surgery
• Guidelines for the Provision of Anaesthesia Services in the Non-theatre Environment
• Guidelines for the Provision of Neuroanaesthetic Services
• Guidelines for the Provision of Anaesthesia Services for Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery
• Guidance on the Provision of Anaesthesia Services for Cardiac Procedures
• Guidance on the Provision of Anaesthesia Services for Thoracic Procedures.
GPAS supports anaesthetists with responsibilities for service delivery and healthcare managers to design and deliver high quality anaesthetic services. All GPAS chapters are developed using a National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) accredited process. As part of this process, the RCoA commits to undertake a full review of each chapter every five years.
Full details including the GPAS chapter drafts and consultation form are available here. The public consultation will close at 5pm on Monday 12 December 2022.
