Aaron Woods
Aaron returned to the College in February 2024 having previously acted as Technology Strategy Programme Director between 2016 – 2020. In his current interim role as Director of Technology and Digital Services, Aaron is overseeing a range of development activities around technology governance, strategy definition, systems architecture, data integration, process improvement and people coaching.
Aaron oversees the College IT team and represents them on the Executive Team, he is also chair of the Digital, Data and Technology Strategy and Assurance Group.
Prior to rejoining the College and in the years before his initial post, Aaron worked for charity and membership organisations such as the British Red Cross, Institution of Civil engineers, Marie Curie Cancer Care and the British Medical Association. Sitting and switching between the worlds of change and technology, he has held posts such as Programme director, Group Chief Information Officer, Transformation Director and Solutions Architect.
Whilst working with the toolset of technology, Aaron very much sees it as the last enabling component to consider after organisational structure and strategy, staff capability, processes, manageable change pace and target user experience. He is an occasional blogger and public speaker on the topic, arguing that tech should support rather than inform the desired future state.
