Biography
Dr Ros Bacon trained at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, qualifying in 1988. Following anaesthetic training in London and a post fellowship position in Seattle, USA, she was appointed as a consultant with a special interest in cardiothoracic anaesthesia at St Mary’s Hospital in 1998.
Ros has been interested in education and training from early on in her consultant career and from 2005 has held various roles within the Imperial School of Anaesthesia, including College Tutor, Training Programme Director, deputy Regional Advisor and most recently Regional Advisor Anaesthetics. Roles undertaken for the College prior to election include RCoA representative on the Academy Assessment Committee of the AoMRC, Final FRCA examiner and deputy lead MCQ core group, RAA and England representative on the Recruitment Advisory Committee.
Using her experience and position on council, Ros will endeavour to ensure fairness and transparency for all anaesthetic doctors during their training and post CCT/CESR careers.
Ros is a keen amateur bassoonist and artist and loves skiing.
